This appears to be a dispearing community as it is encroached by the herbaceous wetland species. This area is may be threatened by edge effect and exotic species from a wildlife management plot is located about 100 m upslope.;Plot placed in a thin band of forest/woodland between a shrub and herbaceous wetland and a forested upland. The shrubs (alder and viburnum) which occupy the stand occur in mostly in dense understory thickets. Many of the herbs are here too, such as Carex stricta. Plot does maintain some of its own features such as dense cover of Osmunda regalis and O. cinnamomea.
Representativeness
Community of forest/woodland physiognomy at the edge of a large wetland and appears to be becoming evermore palustrine. Stand contains various facultative wetland and obligate wetland species.
